In 1877, Adolf Le Comte (the great grandfather of Jonathan B. Le Comte) became
the Artistic Director of Royal Dutch Delft in the city of Delft Holland. Over the next
38 years they produced numerous architectural items such as painted leaded glass,
ceramic balusters and rails, tables, tile murals, and the world renowned
Decorated Delft tile and pottery.

In 1989, Jonathan B. Le Comte started Old World Ceramics Inc. as an importer of
300-400 year old antique Dutch tiles and murals. This enabled Jon to start a
relationship with the Delft factory as well as several other Dutch restoration and
reproduction companies. This simple beginning grew into a full service wholesale tile
distribution company.

We are now working with restoration companies, factories and ateliers in Holland,
Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain and India.  All of our products come from the
regions of the world where they originated and are produced in a manner that
comes as close as possible to the original method in which they were made in the
